People’s experience

Prior to our inspection, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We reviewed patient feedback we received, and feedback routinely obtained by the practice. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. Comments included: “All staff respectful and welcoming. Professional set up.” “The best hygiene appointment I've ever had! So friendly and professional.” “A very pleasant dental surgery. Receptionists, dentists, hygienists, and dental nurses are all very efficient and very professional, and helpful.” “Very good service. Made to feel comfortable and taken through all steps which was very thorough.” “…Professional courteous. Felt at ease everything explained. Excellent knowledge.” “Dental check was very thorough with good advice on next steps. Hygienist was equally thorough again with good tips on keeping teeth and gums in good order.” “All staff are most pleasant and professional. They go the extra mile to make me feel comfortable.” “A lovely, friendly practice where all the staff are knowledgeable, kind and professional. I feel confident that I am receiving the best care and advice from staff who use the latest techniques and equipment. I would highly recommend this dental practice.” Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness. Patients felt able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and said they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed. “Another great visit to The Old Surgery. I'm always greeted with a smile, courtesy and respect. Every bit of my treatment is explained to me, and I'm treated as an individual. Great service with a smile, every time - thank you.” Patients told us they were given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs. They were involved in decisions about their care. “All the staff were very pleasant and welcoming. My treatment options were explained, and the work was carried out to the usual high standard. Absolutely no complaints.” Patients said when they were prescribed medicines, sufficient information was given. Patients told us that they were supported to maintain their oral health and were provided with appropriate information and resources.

The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.

Evidence, not a league table.

CQC findings and GP Patient Survey results answer different questions and may cover different time periods. Neither confirms current appointment availability, NHS acceptance, opening hours or whether a provider is suitable for you.

Check the provider’s own website and the complete official CQC record before making a decision. If you need urgent medical help, use NHS 111 or call 999 in an emergency.
