People’s experience

Patients had access to appointments provided by a range of a multi-skilled clinicians including GPs, nurse practitioner, clinical pharmacist and pharmacist technician, practice nurses and a healthcare assistant. The results of the National GP Patient Survey were higher than local and national average scores for patient satisfaction. Results indicated patients were able to get through to the practice by telephone and website, reception and admin staff were helpful, they usually got to see or speak to their preferred healthcare professional and were given a choice of appointment time. The service monitored patient views via the NHS Friends and Family Test and online feedback, and the results indicated patients were satisfied with services. We received feedback from 218 people and 88% were positive about how the service was meeting and had met their needs. Positive comments were made about access, clinical care, culture, and staffing including clinical and non-clinical staff. Results indicated 11% of patients gave a negative response to their experiences for such matters as access, clinical care, complaints management, culture and medication concerns. There was an active patient participation group (PPG) who represented the views of people using the service and we met with a member during the assessment. We were told meetings were held quarterly, were attended by the management team and relationships between the group and the service were very good. Members felt listened to and could make suggestions for improvements which would be acted upon.

Evidence, not a league table.

CQC findings and GP Patient Survey results answer different questions and may cover different time periods. Neither confirms current appointment availability, NHS acceptance, opening hours or whether a provider is suitable for you.

Check the provider’s own website and the complete official CQC record before making a decision. If you need urgent medical help, use NHS 111 or call 999 in an emergency.
