People’s experience
As part of our assessment, we reviewed feedback from people who used Beech House Surgery to understand their views and experience of it. In feedback to the CQC, people were positive about the quality of their care and treatment at the surgery with the key themes identified in patient feedback being caring, compassionate and respectful staff; patients feeling listened to; fast access and responsiveness; strong clinical care and thoroughness; and a highly regarded reception team. This positivity was also reflected in the results of recent surveys, including the 2025 National GP Patient Survey and NHS Friends and Family feedback, which showed most people were satisfied with the surgery and the services it provided. Healthwatch information from March 2025 to March 2026 was also reviewed and no concerns were identified. Healthwatch acts as a champion for people using health and social care services and receives information of concern through various channels such as direct feedback from individuals, reports from local Healthwatch organisations, and data gathered from engagement activities like surveys and focus groups. We also received positive feedback from the local commissioning body, and the Primary Care Network (PCN). A PCN is a collaborative alliance of GP surgeries and other health and care providers that work together to enhance health services for their community Beech House Surgery had an active Patient Participation Group (PPG) which represented the views of people using the service. Representatives from the PPG described regular and meaningful engagement with practice leaders and said they were kept informed about proposed developments, service changes, and new ways of working that may affect patients. PPG members told us that leaders listened to feedback and had made positive changes as a result of suggestions from the group. The PPG also described organising two successful patient information and wellbeing events to raise awareness of services available through the surgery, which were well attended by patients. In addition, the group was involved in planning further patient engagement events covering areas such as appointment triage, menopause support, men’s health, and parent/carer baby health. PPG representatives also described supporting initiatives to improve digital access for patients, including work around digital appointment booking and helping patients understand and use NHS digital services such as the NHS App.

CQC findings and GP Patient Survey results answer different questions and may cover different time periods. Neither confirms current appointment availability, NHS acceptance, opening hours or whether a provider is suitable for you.
