People’s experience
Prior to our inspection, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We received feedback from 21 patients. On the day of our inspection, we saw patient feedback from a further 104 patients, who had left online reviews. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. Comments included: “Always welcoming and friendly. Very good at explaining what is happening with my teeth and gums and next steps. I feel informed and listened to.” “As a family the treatment and care myself and my two children have received at 5 Hearts dentist had always been good. Timings are kept to, they are good at reminders, and flexible when appointments need to be moved. I feel my feedback and questions are always treated with respect. The different options for treatment are explained clearly. I don't feel pressured into anything, and the attention to treatment is diligent and professional. Al staff were friendly and supportive and provide a safe environment.” “Welcoming staff, clean environment. Dentist is very personable, takes his time to say hi and talk. Discusses options clearly and there's never any pressure to go one way or the other. Always feel like am coming back to my practice as dentist remembers who I am and will ask about my family. Very warm and patient with my kids when they have had their first appointments and I like the consistency of service I get from the Five Hearts Dental team.” “Dr [staff member] and [their] team are pleasant and welcoming. In particular, [they] has given myself and my husband excellent dentistry care at the same time as being sensitive and compassionate. Always a pleasure-especially as this is a dentist.” Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness. Patients felt able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and said they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed. Patients told us they were given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs. They were involved in decisions about their care. Patients told us that when they were prescribed medicines, sufficient information was given. Patients told us that they were supported to maintain their oral health and were provided with appropriate information and resources. The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
