Ongoing Assessment for Norton Canes Health Centre

Assessment dated 28 May 2026. Published 9 July 2026.

What CQC reported

The service is performing well and meeting our expectations.

People’s experience

As part of our assessment, we reviewed feedback from people who used the service to understand their views and experience of the service. This included speaking with people using the service at the time of our site visit and reviewing other feedback available to us, including through our Give Feedback on Care Service and information shared by the local Healthwatch team. People were overall very positive about the quality of the care and treatment they received. Staff were described as excellent, amazing, thorough, extremely helpful, professional and caring. The National GP Patient Survey 2025 results for the practice were positive with the practice scoring higher than local and national averages in all but 3 of the 20 indicators. For example, 86% of respondents described their overall experience of this GP practice as good, 96% of respondents felt the healthcare professional was good at listening to them and 83% of respondents described their experience of contacting the practice as good. Feedback gained from the NHS Friends and Family Test (FFT) showed people were overwhelmingly satisfied with the service provided. The practice had a Patient Participation Group (PPG) to represent the views of people using the service. However, uptake in membership had not significantly increased since the last inspection, despite the efforts that had continued to be made. Representatives from the PPG described how leaders had made positive changes because of patient feedback. They spoke highly of the staff and of the practice.

Evidence, not a league table.

CQC findings and GP Patient Survey results answer different questions and may cover different time periods. Neither confirms current appointment availability, NHS acceptance, opening hours or whether a provider is suitable for you.

Check the provider’s own website and the complete official CQC record before making a decision. If you need urgent medical help, use NHS 111 or call 999 in an emergency.
