People’s experience

Patients were positive about the quality of their care and treatment provided by Stokesley Surgery. Recent survey results, including from the national GP Patient Survey and the NHS ‘Friends and Family Test’, showed high patient satisfaction with the practice. Patients also provided feedback directly to the Care Quality Commission (CQC) via email or telephone. Feedback we received was mostly incredibly positive. One patient told us, “I highly commend all of the staff, including administrators, nurses and doctors. The reception staff are efficient yet pleasant and helpful. The nurses do their jobs extremely well and their appointments are always on time. I cannot speak highly enough of the practice nurses and doctors. They have recruited a group of highly professional and knowledgeable doctors.” Another patient said Stokesley Surgery was, “one of the best surgeries I have ever encountered.” The practice held regular meetings with the active Patient Participation Group (PPG) which represented the views of people using the practice. Members of the PPG described how the practice listened to their views and involved them in decision-making. One member told us, “In terms of engaging with the PPG, I would say the surgery is excellent. They take it very seriously.” The practice manager was said to always attend PPG meetings with a “positive attitude to help and answer any questions. [The practice manager] has asked us for agenda items and responds favourably at all times.” We reviewed recent information shared by Healthwatch (an organisation which acts as champion for people using health and social care services). We did not identify any concerning issues or trends. We received positive feedback from the local Integrated Care Board (ICB). An ICB is an NHS organisation in England responsible for planning and managing health services in a specific area.

Evidence, not a league table.

CQC findings and GP Patient Survey results answer different questions and may cover different time periods. Neither confirms current appointment availability, NHS acceptance, opening hours or whether a provider is suitable for you.

Check the provider’s own website and the complete official CQC record before making a decision. If you need urgent medical help, use NHS 111 or call 999 in an emergency.
