People’s experience
People were generally positive about the quality of their care and treatment. Data from the most recent National GP Patient Survey showed people were satisfied with services with 71% describing their overall experience as good. Overall results were mainly in line with local and national averages. However, 60% of respondents said it was easy to contact this GP practice on the phone compared with the local average of 52% and the National average of 50%. One review had been recorded in the previous 12 months on the NHS website and rated the practice 5 out of 5 for the care and treatment received. Since the last inspection a patient participation group (PPG) who represented the views of people using the service had been formed and positive working relationships had been developed. The representative from the PPG described how leaders had made positive changes to the service based on their feedback. This included improved patient access, an interactive website, a regular locum GP to provide continuity of care and a more welcoming reception area with informative notice boards. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) had received 5 concerns from people using the service in the previous 12 months. Concerns shared were in relation to the ordering of medicines, high turnover of staff, not feeling listened to or taken seriously, culture, unsafe environment, removal of patients from the register, leadership and care and treatment. However the nursing team were described as exceptional and going above and beyond for their patients.

Evidence, not a league table.
CQC findings and GP Patient Survey results answer different questions and may cover different time periods. Neither confirms current appointment availability, NHS acceptance, opening hours or whether a provider is suitable for you.
Check the provider’s own website and the complete official CQC record before making a decision. If you need urgent medical help, use NHS 111 or call 999 in an emergency.
