People’s experience

At the previous assessment in October 2023, the practice was rated requires improvement because the results of the 2023 national GP patient survey were lower than local and national averages for providing caring services and there was limited work being carried out to address this. At this assessment, the national GP patient survey carried out from January to March 2024, which had 107 responses continued to remain lower than the local and national averages. For example, 79% of patients stated that their needs were met, in comparison to the national average of 90% and the local average of 87%. Forty one percent of patients had a fairly to very good experience of contacting the practice, in comparison to the national average of 67% and the local areas of 62%. Also 25% of patients found it fairly to very easy to contact the practice by phone in comparison to the national average of 50% and the local average of 48%. The practice had carried out a patient survey during April and May 2025, where they had 14 responses. The responses were more positive than the GP national survey. For example, 13 found their experience of using the practice very good or good, most patient responses were either partially or fully satisfied with GP, nurse and receptionist care. In addition, most found the experience of making a routine or emergency appointment either trouble free or not so difficult. We also spoke with a member of the patient participation group who told us the GPs always responded to the needs of their patients and provided extra time so that patients could raise all their concerns.

Evidence, not a league table.

CQC findings and GP Patient Survey results answer different questions and may cover different time periods. Neither confirms current appointment availability, NHS acceptance, opening hours or whether a provider is suitable for you.

Check the provider’s own website and the complete official CQC record before making a decision. If you need urgent medical help, use NHS 111 or call 999 in an emergency.
