People’s experience
As part of our assessment, we reviewed feedback from people who used Scorton Medical Centre to understand their views and experience of it. This included speaking with a patient using the practice at the time of our assessment and reviewing other feedback available to us. In feedback to the CQC, people were universally positive about the quality of their care and treatment and described how staff treated them with kindness and compassion and how there were no issues with regards to accessing appointments. This positivity was also mirrored in the results of recent surveys, including the 2025 National GP Patient Survey and NHS Friends and Family feedback, which showed most people were satisfied with the practice. Healthwatch information from March 2025 to March 2026 was reviewed and showed no negative feedback. Healthwatch acts as a champion for people using health and social care services, and they receive information of concern through various channels. This includes direct feedback from individuals, reports from local Healthwatch organisations, and data gathered from engagement activities like surveys and focus groups. They analyse this information to identify trends, highlight areas needing improvement, and inform decision-makers about public experiences and concerns. Although the practice does not currently have an active Patient Participation Group (PPG), we saw that they produce a newsletter which is circulated to their patients via their website and via social media. Copies were also available in the waiting room. We also saw that the practice tried to encourage patients to join a ‘virtual PPG’ via their website and that they sent members of the group emails updating them on any changes within the practice and asking for their opinion.

Evidence, not a league table.
CQC findings and GP Patient Survey results answer different questions and may cover different time periods. Neither confirms current appointment availability, NHS acceptance, opening hours or whether a provider is suitable for you.
Check the provider’s own website and the complete official CQC record before making a decision. If you need urgent medical help, use NHS 111 or call 999 in an emergency.
Independent lookup: Check My GP is not affiliated with the CQC, NHS or this provider. Providers cannot pay to change their rating or position. CQC data is reused under the Open Government Licence; GP Patient Survey results are published by NHS England and Ipsos.
