People’s experience

People were positive about the quality of their care and treatment. Recent survey results, including from the National GP Patient Survey and the NHS Friends and Family Test, showed people were satisfied with services. There was an active patient participation group (PPG) who represented the views of people using the service. Representatives from the PPG described how managers made positive changes because of feedback. The PPG met alternate months at the practice and held an annual general meeting. There were 24 members who regularly attended the group, which included patients with heath and other professional backgrounds. They reported that they felt valued by the practice team who listened to their views and provided feedback opportunities in respect of any proposed improvements or changes. The practice and PPG maintained an information board in the practice waiting area, displaying various health promotion and awareness initiatives available to patients. The PPG had its own website and website editor. Feedback was received directly from patients to the Care Quality Commission via ‘Give Feed Back on Care.’ This highlighted both positive and mixed patient views on the care and service from the practice team, with some GPs and practitioners singled out for praise. The mixed less positive element was on referral timeliness and the attitude of a GP approach. Staff across the practice were described as helpful, kind and responsive. The online triage system was noted as efficient, and easy to use, contributing to positive patient experiences.

Evidence, not a league table.

CQC findings and GP Patient Survey results answer different questions and may cover different time periods. Neither confirms current appointment availability, NHS acceptance, opening hours or whether a provider is suitable for you.

Check the provider’s own website and the complete official CQC record before making a decision. If you need urgent medical help, use NHS 111 or call 999 in an emergency.
