People’s experience
The GP Patient Survey is an independent national survey that tells us how people feel about their GP practice. The findings of the most recent survey, the 2025 survey, showed fewer people were positive about their overall experiences of the practice than the local and national averages. However, these survey results reflect how people felt about the practice before the practice had launched a new ‘Total Triage’ system in October 2025. Compared to local and national averages, fewer people were positive about access to the service, felt healthcare professionals listened to them, and felt they had confidence and trust in the healthcare professional they saw or spoke to. Fewer people felt staff involved them as much as they wanted to be in decisions about their care and treatment than the national average. However, the survey also showed people felt the healthcare professional they saw was very good or fairly good at treating them with care and concern, which was in line with local and national averages. We received mixed feedback from people who used the service. Examples were: • People felt there were delays in responding to requests, acting on abnormal test results, sending referrals, and processing information coming into the practice. • People were negative about the attitude of some clinical and non-clinical staff, describing staff as rude and unhelpful. • People felt the practice was slow to manage complaints or that complaints ‘got lost’. The practice had a Patient Participation Group (PPG). The PPG and practice leaders told us they felt working relationships between the PPG and the practice were improving. The PPG had carried out a patient survey during the summer of 2025. The PPG had compared the responses with the findings from a similar survey carried out by the PPG in 2024. Although comparison between the surveys is limited because of differences in the survey approach, the analysis completed by the PPG showed patients gave similar common suggestions for improvement, such as better communication with practice staff and better consistency and continuity of care. People said they continued to find booking appointments difficult, particularly if they wished to pre-book. However, the analysis also showed fewer people said they had needed to use alternative services because they could not get an appointment at the practice. The survey was carried out just before a new ‘Total Triage’ system was launched at the practice. The PPG told us they felt that feedback from patients since the launch of the new system was more positive.

Evidence, not a league table.
CQC findings and GP Patient Survey results answer different questions and may cover different time periods. Neither confirms current appointment availability, NHS acceptance, opening hours or whether a provider is suitable for you.
Check the provider’s own website and the complete official CQC record before making a decision. If you need urgent medical help, use NHS 111 or call 999 in an emergency.
