People’s experience
As part of our assessment, we reviewed feedback from people who used the service to understand their views and experience of the service. This included speaking with people using the service at the time of our assessment and reviewing other feedback available to us. People were generally positive about the care and treatment they received. They told us staff treated them with kindness, compassion and respect and that they felt involved in decisions about their care. This was reflected in the results of recent surveys, including the 2026 GP Patient Survey, which showed positive patient experiences in several areas. For example, 95.8% of respondents said the healthcare professional they saw or spoke to was good or very good at treating them with care and concern. This was higher than the national average of 86.0%. In addition, 94.2% of respondents said the healthcare professional was good at listening to them, while 97.5% reported having confidence and trust in the healthcare professional they saw or spoke to. Patients also reported feeling involved in decisions about their care and treatment. Results showed that 97.5% of respondents felt they were involved as much as they wanted to be in decisions about their care, compared to the national average of 91.6%. There was an active Patient Participation Group (PPG) which represented the views of people using the service. Representatives from the PPG told us they had a positive working relationship with service leaders and described how patient feedback was reviewed and used to support improvements to the service.
