People’s experience

People who used this service were given the opportunity to provide feedback to CQC as part of this assessment. We received feedback from 20 people and one care home, and most were positive about the quality of care and treatment provided. [Note: The relatively low numbers of feedback may, in part, be due to a technical fault with CQC’s webform during the period leading up to, and during, our assessment.] Recent survey results, including from the National GP Patient Survey and the NHS Friends and Family Test were reviewed and showed that most people were satisfied with services offered by the surgery. Where concerns were raised, they tended to relate to either the appointment system, access to appointments, contact with reception or facilities (lift, parking etc). Recent information shared by Healthwatch was reviewed and no concerning issues, trends or themes were identified. Healthwatch acts as a champion for people using health and social care services, and they receive information of concern through various channels. This includes direct feedback from individuals, reports from local Healthwatch organisations, and data gathered from engagement activities like surveys and focus groups. They analyse this information to identify trends, highlight areas needing improvement, and inform decision-makers about public experiences and concerns. There was a patient participation group (PPG) that represented the views of people using the service and members described how management had previously engaged with them and how they had felt listened to. The PPG had not met recently with the management team however and the feedback we received from members was mixed, with some members, for example, liking the new triage system and others not. We received positive feedback from the local Integrated Care Board (ICB). An ICB is an NHS organisation in England responsible for planning and managing health services for a specific area within an Integrated Care System (ICS).

Evidence, not a league table.

CQC findings and GP Patient Survey results answer different questions and may cover different time periods. Neither confirms current appointment availability, NHS acceptance, opening hours or whether a provider is suitable for you.

Check the provider’s own website and the complete official CQC record before making a decision. If you need urgent medical help, use NHS 111 or call 999 in an emergency.
