Ongoing Assessment for Dr Chidambaram Balachander

Assessment dated 13 March 2024. Published 30 April 2024.

What CQC reported

Dr Chidambaram Balachander is an NHS GP practice which provides primary care services to patients in Rochester, Kent. We carried out a focussed assessment on 14 March 2024 by requesting evidence from the practice and reviewing feedback from staff and patients. The assessment did not include a site visit. The service is currently rated good overall and good for all key questions. This assessment included 2 quality statements: Equity in access; and Governance, management and sustainability.

People’s experience

The methodology used during this assessment did not involve a site visit. To hear from patients about their experiences we asked the practice to share details of our Give Feedback on Care process on their website. Despite the practice complying with this request we did not receive any feedback from patients via this route. However, we did review other feedback from patients about this practice. For example, results of the National GP Patient Survey, minutes of the practice’s Patient Participation Group (PPG) and Friends and Family Test results about this practice. This feedback showed patients reported positive experiences when accessing care, support and treatment, as well as having received care in a timely manner.

Evidence, not a league table.

CQC findings and GP Patient Survey results answer different questions and may cover different time periods. Neither confirms current appointment availability, NHS acceptance, opening hours or whether a provider is suitable for you.

Check the provider’s own website and the complete official CQC record before making a decision. If you need urgent medical help, use NHS 111 or call 999 in an emergency.
