People’s experience
Two weeks before our inspection, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We received feedback from 306 patients. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. Comments included, “I have been a patient at Soar Valley Dental Practice for many years and I cannot express how good they’ve been to me during this time. If I need an emergency appointment, I have always been able to get one where they discuss treatment needs and my options very clearly. The team go above and beyond to make all appointments as enjoyable as a dental appointment can be! They personalise my treatments and treat me with respect. I would have no hesitation at all to recommend this dental practice.” Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness. Comments included, “This dental practice has excellent staff and is always clean and tidy. [Clinician] is particularly attentive, gentle, knowledgeable and friendly.” Patients felt able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and said they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed. Comments included, “The practice is very clean with staff welcoming. The waiting area is spacious with enough seating. I have had no trouble getting timely appointments. The dentists and hygienist are wonderful. They explain any issues found and how they can be corrected.” Patients told us they were given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs. They were involved in decisions about their care. Comments included, “I recently joined the practice and was very impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of the team. Everything was explained to me in detail and I found my treatment very thorough.” Patients said when they were prescribed medicines, sufficient information was given. Patients told us that they were supported to maintain their oral health and were provided with appropriate information and resources. The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.

Evidence, not a league table.
CQC findings and GP Patient Survey results answer different questions and may cover different time periods. Neither confirms current appointment availability, NHS acceptance, opening hours or whether a provider is suitable for you.
Check the provider’s own website and the complete official CQC record before making a decision. If you need urgent medical help, use NHS 111 or call 999 in an emergency.
