People’s experience
Two weeks before our inspection, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We received feedback from 10 patients. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. Comments included, “The practice has friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. The clinical staff are professional, knowledgeable and have good communication skills. I have had both routine and emergency appointments and have always been happy with the service. I would recommend this practice highly.” Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness. Comments included, “I've been going to Forest Road Dental Practice for 20 plus years and have always been very impressed with the service. [Clinician] is fantastic, very caring and I always feel that he has my best interests in mind. I feel well looked after by all the staff when I'm there - very kind, and the service for bookings and reminder notifications are excellent. My hygienist visits are equally good, and I've never felt disappointed after leaving one. The practice itself is always spotless and has a nice atmosphere.” Patients felt able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and said they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed. Comments included, “Forest Road Dental Practice are a caring, safe and exceptional dental practice that promotes a calm environment and prioritises emotional support alongside oral health. The dentist I see is extremely patient putting any anxieties at ease, he explains every procedure fully and listens to my concerns. He personally greets every patient with a warm and cheery smile and takes his time to listen which is essential for dentist and patient relationship to gain trust, communication, and mutual respect. This helps alleviate dental anxiety, improves treatment outcomes, and encourages proactive preventive care. The hygienists are extremely patient taking their time to listen to patient concerns and explain every procedure prior and during treatment. They advise thoroughly on dental hygiene giving solutions to help improve oral health. I would particularly like to give credit to the hygienist who is seeing my autistic grandson; the care given and time taken over months of visits to gain his confidence continues to be exceptional.” Patients told us they were given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs. They were involved in decisions about their care. Comments included, “The service provided by the dentist and team has always been outstanding. Professional, kind and truly care about not only your dental care but overall wellbeing. Always time to discuss treatment options. Will do absolute best to see you when convenient and fit in with future plans. Treatment is of the highest standard.” Patients said when they were prescribed medicines, sufficient information was given. Patients told us that they were supported to maintain their oral health and were provided with appropriate information and resources. The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
