People’s experience

Two weeks before our inspection, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We received feedback from 8 patients. On the day of our inspection, we spoke with and saw patient feedback from a further 4 patients. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. Comments included, “Very good service. I like my orthodontists a lot, they are very nice and friendly” and “I had a really good experience with Birmingham Orthodontics as I had a major surgery and my teeth wasn’t aligned but the amazing work that they have done have achieved what I wanted. My teeth are perfectly aligned and it’s given me so much confidence to smile. I’m so grateful.” We were also told, “The service I experienced at Birmingham Orthodontics was lovely, all the staff there are extremely welcoming and friendly and they are very considerate of their customers. I have been going for many years and they have not once gotten complacent on the amount of effort they put into their work. I am extremely happy I picked this place to go to originally and I would definitely recommend to anyone that was planning to get braces to come here as well.” Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness. A patient told us, “The practice environment is clean, well‑organised, and welcoming. Staff consistently demonstrated safe working practices, and I always felt reassured that my care was being delivered to a very high clinical standard. Appointments were well‑managed, and any queries I had were responded to promptly and helpfully.” Patients felt able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and said they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed. We were told, “Our daughter is currently under the care of Birmingham Orthodontics and we are very pleased with the care she is receiving. The staff are friendly and professional and have explained the whole process along with the timeline clearly. Our daughter feels relaxed and comfortable under the care of the team. The clinic is clean and welcoming. They are also flexible when we have needed to book in outside of our normal appointment times for adjustments to the braces. We would highly recommend them for orthodontic treatment.” Patients told us they were given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs. They were involved in decisions about their care. One patient told us, “[Orthodontist] and the wider team took time to explain every stage of the process clearly, ensuring I fully understood my treatment options and felt confident in the decisions being made. Their communication was always thorough, transparent, and patient‑centred. I felt listened to, respected, and supported at every visit.” The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
