People’s experience

Two weeks before our inspection, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We received feedback from 3 patients. On the day of our inspection, we reviewed patient feedback routinely collected by the practice. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. Comments included, “Throughout my entire life I have always been afraid of the dentist. Naturally, this led to deteriorating oral health which required a full upper clearance of my teeth. After having this procedure through the NHS, they fitted dentures which required glue and were cumbersome to wear. I reached out to Aesthetic Smiles in 2021 for a consultation regarding dental implants. The experience during this consultation was phenomenal, they provided tailored recommendations based on my diet, offered sedation due to my dental phobia, and explained the process and costs clearly. The follow up appointments were fantastic and involved the design of my new denture to fit on the newly installed 4 upper implants. I am immensely grateful for their compassion and quality of work along every step of the process. My fear of the dentist was gone following this, and I then had composite bonding completed on my lower teeth to completely restore my confidence. Ever since, I have been coming back to Aesthetic Smiles for all of my dental work and I don’t think I will ever go anywhere else. Their staff are fantastic, the facilities are clean and well equipped, and the whole experience is phenomenal. You are looked after from the first visit to the final part of treatment and beyond. My most recent experience was today with the hygienist. I was welcomed warmly, seen promptly and the hygienist performed her job fantastically and ensured the discomfort was never too much at any point. I would 100% recommend Aesthetic Smiles to everyone and I thought I would share my experience with you at the CQC to ensure their hard work is recognised in some way.” Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness. Patients felt able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and said they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed. Patients told us they were given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs. They were involved in decisions about their care. Patients said when they were prescribed medicines, sufficient information was given. Patients told us that they were supported to maintain their oral health and were provided with appropriate information and resources. The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
