People’s experience

Prior to our inspection, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We received feedback from 18 patients. On the day of our inspection, we also saw 50 patient feedback results which had been gathered directly by the practice over the last month plus a further 100 patients, who had left online reviews. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. Comments included: “The whole experience is exceptional. Clean modern practice. Fantastic dentist, taking time to explain in detail what's involved. As well as being a lovely person too. All the staff are very nice know exactly how to run a dental practice.” “The care the dentist provides [their] patients is second to none. The work [they] completes is of an incredibly high standard and [they] will not send you away unless you as the patient and [they] as the dentist are completely happy with the work that has been done. [They] also has an incredible team that work alongside [them], [their] reception team and [sic] incredibly friendly and will help you get an appointment when needed.” “The care and treatment I've received is second to none, from the moment you walk into the practice you are greeted with amazing, attentive staff with an extremely clean waiting room and toilet to access. Personal greets at the door are amazing form staff, it makes you feel welcome and comfortable. I scream from the roof tops how amazing the service and care is from every staff member”. “As a patient I have always been impressed by the dentist’s professional expertise, outstanding care and compassionate approach to dentistry. When I first met [them], I felt quite nervous, but [they] soon put me at ease. [They are] a highly skilled dentist who stays up to date with the latest advancements in dental technology and treatment methods and this is shown in [their] enthusiasm. [They] always takes time to explain procedures in a way that is easy to understand and always ensures that I am comfortable throughout the entire process. Thornley Park has a welcoming and calming environment which I feel may be particularly valuable for patient that have a dental anxiety.” Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness. Patients felt able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and said they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed. Patients told us they were given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs. They were involved in decisions about their care. Patients told us that when they were prescribed medicines, sufficient information was given. Patients told us that they were supported to maintain their oral health and were provided with appropriate information and resources. The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
