People’s experience

Prior to our visit, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We reviewed patient feedbackwe received, and feedback routinely obtained by the practice.Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. Comments included: “Excellent service received every time I visit Brunner Court from the receptionist to the dental team everyone is so friendly and helpful with any query I have had.” “I am an extremely nervous patient and from the minute I entered the dental surgery I was immediately put at ease. [Name] in particular, and the front desk staff were welcoming and friendly, and explained everything fully, ensuring I understood each treatment and what it was for etc and that I was happy with the plan of care. The care plan was individualised to me and personalised, unlike other places I’ve been a patient in the past. The dentist, [name], is incredible. He immediately makes you feel comfortable and is a genuinely warm, friendly practitioner, as is his assistant nurse. Thank you for helping me get over my lifelong fear of the dentist.” Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness. “I always feel welcome. Such a lovely friendly team. Very clean.” Patients felt able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and said they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed. “Lovely and professional practice, friendly and helpful staff. Quick and easy to get appointments and excellent treatment and care.” Patients told us they were given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs. They were involved in decisions about their care. “Good treatment and friendly staff and dentists. Prices were given on a treatment plan and no pressure to proceed, everything was explained in detail.” “… I received a thorough consultation, careful explanation of treatment options and returned two weeks later for the first part of the procedure…” Patients said when they were prescribed medicines, sufficient information was given. Patients told us that they were supported to maintain their oral health and were provided with appropriate information and resources. “… Following the surgery, I was given plenty of information on aftercare and left with a week's supply of antibiotics and further advice to contact the practice with any queries or concerns. I was kept well informed and reassured throughout the entire experience confident I was in good hands and being treated professionally.”

The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
