People’s experience
Two weeks before our inspection, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We did not receive any direct patient feedback. The practice made our questionnaires available to patients, and we received 4 responses. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. Patients praised the practice for staff professionalism and responsiveness, saying, “I can highly recommend this dental surgery… The practice is very well run and if I have ever had an issue it’s been dealt with professionally, respectively and promptly,” and highlighted the support and care received by anxious patients, noting, “I particularly like that the practice and in particular my Dentist … is very accommodating to nervous and sensitive patients like myself.” Those expressing overall satisfaction highlighted confidence in recommending the service, with comments such as, “I can highly recommend this dental surgery and have done to family friends for years.” However, concerns were raised about cost, with one patient stating, “Dental costs these days are ridiculous.” We were told that where concerns were raised, the team would contact the patient, if possible, to discuss their concerns directly. The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
