People’s experience

Patients were consistently positive about how they accessed care and treatment and the overall quality of the care they received. Specifically, feedback sourced from the national GP Patient Survey regarding access and patient experience was higher when compared to local and national averages. For example, in 2024: 78% of respondents found it easy to get through to the practice by telephone. This was higher when compared to the local average (46%) and the national average (50%). 84% of respondents described their overall experience of the practice as good. This was higher when compared to the local average (70%) and the national average (74%). Patient satisfaction also remained higher than local and national averages in 2025, for example: 88% of respondents described their overall experience of the practice as good. This was a 4% increase on the previous years results and remained higher when compared to the local average (76%) and the national average (75%). Staff told us they were proud of the feedback they received and aimed to further increase patient satisfaction in 2026 and beyond. The practice promoted and monitored patient feedback that was collected via the NHS Friends and Family Test results. We reviewed the most recent responses collected and verified from April 2025 (791 responses), May 2025 (909 responses), June 2025 (924 responses) and July 2025 (985 responses). Using the combined responses from the last 4 months (3,609 responses), 3,466 responses (96%) rated the service received at the practice as either ‘Good’ or ‘Very Good’. We spoke with representatives of 3 care homes who had residents (a combination of 120 patients) registered with the practice. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive regarding the practice providing a caring and compassionate service. Feedback highlighted the visiting teams responsible for weekly rounds were proactive, engaging, extremely attentive, kind and provided excellent care and support. They said certain individuals really made a difference to the residents’ health and well-being. We received feedback from patients as a result of the practice sharing information and the direct website link to ‘CQC Give Feedback on Care’ to patients, which was all overwhelmingly positive. Patients described and gave examples of staff being helpful, caring, responsive and knowledgeable. Feedback praised staff as being, excellent at their jobs, having behaved kindly towards them and as diligent in carrying out their tasks. This indicated that, within the practice staff team, a caring, helpful and listening culture was embedded. Further comments referred to the practice as exemplary, superb and an asset to the local community. There was an active patient participation group (PPG) of 11 members who represented the views of people using the practice. We spoke with representatives from the PPG, and they described how leaders within the practice had made a series of positive changes following feedback. The PPG highlighted how they worked in unison with the practice and how they influenced changes and improved services for patients at the practice by offering to test and feedback on proposed new and revised services. The representatives also provided feedback from their perspective as patients. This feedback aligned to the other positive patient feedback collected throughout this inspection.

Evidence, not a league table.

CQC findings and GP Patient Survey results answer different questions and may cover different time periods. Neither confirms current appointment availability, NHS acceptance, opening hours or whether a provider is suitable for you.

Check the provider’s own website and the complete official CQC record before making a decision. If you need urgent medical help, use NHS 111 or call 999 in an emergency.
