People’s experience

Two weeks before our inspection, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We did not receive any direct patient feedback. The practice made our questionnaires available to patients, and we received 25 responses. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. All respondents said they would recommend the practice to family or friends. Patients scored the practice highly across the areas surveyed, including access to appointments, the practice environment, the professionalism and conduct of staff. Respondents included both newer and longstanding patients, with several reporting that they had attended the practice for many years. In addition, we reviewed patient feedback gathered by the practice from a range of sources, including Friends and Family Test responses and online reviews. Overall, the feedback provided a positive view of the care, treatment and service provided by the practice. Patients praised the practice for its friendly and caring staff, saying "Receptionist are lovely polite friendly and very helpful," "Friendly receptionists, very informative and friendly dentists. 5-star service for over 10 years from these folk!" and "The woman who works at reception she is very respectful and kind, she does her job professionally." Patients also highlighted the quality of treatment and professionalism. Comments included "The best dentist I have ever had," "Treatment I have received is fantastic… goes through everything thoroughly. Explains everything she does," "Always a professional approach from the dentist. Clearly, she is knowledgeable about her trade but efficient also," “I have been a patient at MyDentist Sneyd Green for over 30 years the treatment I have received is fantastic,” and "On time very professional." Patients commented positively on the care they received and how they were made to feel, with feedback including "The dentist I saw was lovely and listened to me and friendly," "We can always get an appointment. It's not felt rushed," and "Appointments are on time and you get help with problems with your teeth." Patients appreciated the practice's responsiveness and access to care, particularly for urgent treatment. One patient said, "They saw my partner quickly and helped with his tooth pain in an efficient and proactive way," while another commented “They fitted me in at short notice where the dentist who is absolutely lovely." A small number of comments identified areas outside the direct control of the clinical team, including "Not the best location for parking" and "Waiting times." One patient commented also on the limited space for wheelchairs and prams. We discussed feedback with the practice, who told us they reviewed comments regularly and would take appropriate action where possible. Where any suggestions were made, the patient support team or practice manager responded to patient feedback and directed them to contact the practice to discuss their experiences further. In addition, the practice shared patient feedback with the team.
