People’s experience

People were mostly positive about the quality of their care and treatment. Recent survey results, including from the National GP Patient Survey and the NHS Friends and Family Test, showed people were satisfied with services. The majority of feedback received by CQC was positive, over 90% of people commenting positively about the empathy and professionalism shown by staff, access to timely appointments and proactive care. However, some people commented on difficulties accessing appointments, the attitude of some reception staff, medicine management and poor communication on occasions. There was an active patient participation group (PPG) who worked in partnership with the service to drive improvements. The PPG acted as a conduit for communication between the local community and the practice. The member of the PPG attended the service every morning to support people using the service, for example, assisting people to use the blood pressure machine. Representatives from the PPG described how managers made positive changes because of feedback. For example, The PPG worked with the service to engage with young families to ask them what they thought of the facilities at the surgery. Following feedback, improvements had been made to the layout the baby change room and breast-feeding room, and new toys purchased for the play area.

Evidence, not a league table.

CQC findings and GP Patient Survey results answer different questions and may cover different time periods. Neither confirms current appointment availability, NHS acceptance, opening hours or whether a provider is suitable for you.

Check the provider’s own website and the complete official CQC record before making a decision. If you need urgent medical help, use NHS 111 or call 999 in an emergency.
